Who can join
- Facebook Pages and profiles in professional mode. Personal profiles can't.
- People aged 18 or over.
- People living in an eligible country. The United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand are all on Meta's list.
- Accounts on Facebook for at least 30 days.
- Accounts that follow Meta's Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetization Policies.
Political entities, candidates, parties and government agencies can't take part.
Is there a follower requirement?
Meta publishes no follower or view number for Content Monetization. Old numbers such as 10,000 followers came from In-stream Ads, which ended on 31 August 2025.
How to check your Page
On a computer:
- Open Meta Business Suite.
- Go to Monetization. You may find it under All tools.
- Under Status, click View Page eligibility.
On a phone: open your Professional dashboard, which may now be called Creator Dashboard or Business Dashboard, and tap Monetization. You'll see Ready to set up or Not yet eligible.
How to get in
Meta sends invitations through the Facebook app, email, Business Suite or your dashboard. Without one, you can express interest on a form under Monetization, then Content Monetization. Meta says the form isn't an application, and it says open enrollment is planned but gives no date.
Once you're invited: Professional dashboard, Monetize, Content monetization, Get Started. Then accept the terms and add your payout details.
What makes content ineligible
- Reposted content, unless you've changed it in a meaningful way with commentary, parody or creative editing.
- Small changes don't count: borders, logos, a caption, background music or changed speed.
- Engagement bait, such as asking people to like, comment or share to win something.
- Static videos, image slideshows, text montages and looping videos.
- Reels under 10 seconds, and anything with under 5 seconds of watch time.
- Boosted posts, and posts with inauthentic engagement.
Fresh, original posts matter most. The Content radar shows what's working in your topic so you can make your own version.
